Ben Glaetzer’s stylish red wines seem to be tailor-made for the UK audience and people swoon at their flavours. Last year’s 2009 Bishop Shiraz gives way to a stunning 2010 but as no 2011 Bishop was made, stock will be tight, so get in quick. This leaves the coast clear for Anaperenna, Ben’s mighty Shiraz/Cabernet blend, to do some serious damage to peoples credit cards. If you haven’t tasted this wine before, or perhaps remember Godolphin from the old days, then this wine has never been better than it is in 2010. Crash-helmets on, rev the engine up to several thousand rpm and let the tyres squeal – this is one nail-biting ride.
