Straight up - a crackingly good value Heathcote (with Strathbogie Ranges) shiraz exuding pepper and spice aromas and dark plummy fruit. It has a floral lift and bright, crunchy berry acidity, all sculpted deftly into a refined style. It's very impressive. Look out also for a 2011 tempranillo from the same producer full of juicy, lip-smacking red fruits. Value: Terrific. Food: Chinese Duck.
